Since the mid-20th century, Camp 4 has been a base camp of nearly mythical proportions. Located in Yosemite Valley, this unassuming little campground with no drive-in sites is where the pioneers of rock climbing would stay, sometimes for months, sharing ideas, creating new routes, and launching death-defying attempts up the great monolithic granite faces of El Capitan and Half Dome.
Now a National Historic Landmark, it still bears a palpable mystique due to the chalk-stained boulders that punctuate the campground and the generations or climbers and adventurers that have called it home.
Likewise, Camp 4 uniquely embodies Distant Mountains Bread and Coffee’s three core values to create, motivate, and inspire the next generation of explorers, adventurers, and innovators.
